About Me

Hi I’m Karen.  I am a mother of 4 grown children and a grandmother of 3.  I am a lover of flowers, chocolate and life.

I work a full time job as a financial officer for a non-profit in a small Northern California town close to the Oregon border.  During my non-working hours I keep busy with some of my many passions which include gardening, cooking/baking, spending time with family, and photography.  Luckily my day job allows me to escape once in a while to indulge in my passions and creativity.

With this blog I will be sharing with you my years of gardening experiences on my five acres. I love to travel and take family trips, whether it is camping, spending the weekend on the lake or the ski slopes, or more extensive traveling. I will take you along on all of my new endeavors, in the garden or out.

I am a proponent for natural living and am a Wellness Advocate for doTerra essential oils.  I will never push my views on you, however, I will share my experiences with various natural remedies and life choices.

I grew up with a camera in my hand always taking pictures of family and family vacations.  To this day I am an avid photographer.  I love to take photographs of my yard and garden.  I always have my camera with me while traveling (never leave home without it) and have photographed several weddings, high school and youth sporting events, and many portrait sessions, both adults and children/babies.

I love to incorporate my photographs into these blog posts and hope they give you as much pleasure as they give me as well as give you an insight into me and my life.

Please stick around and say hi once in a while.
