Winter Finally Showed Up

The white Christmas didn’t materialize. The storms since then only brought snow to the higher elevations. When were we going to get some?

Well this weekend was our turn. I got about a foot at my house. I love it! There is nothing prettier than a blanket of fresh white powder in the middle of winter.

I took a walk through the yard on Friday trying to get things in order before the snow storm that was supposed to hit the following day. I snapped a few pictures to show what was going on.

In this picture you can see the bulbs popping through the dirt that I talked about in my post here. They are about 1 – 1 1/2 inches tall.

There’s some new growth on my Japanese Maples and my almond trees.

Saturday was a snow day. We just hunkered down, watched movies and watched it snow and snow and snow.

This is what Sunday looked like. Isn’t it beautiful!

And we have more coming tomorrow and the rest of the week. Spring may be a ways away but it will come fast. Putting it off a bit gives me inside time to plan out the vege garden and maybe get some seeds started.
